How to Schedule Tweets

Why should you schedule tweets? Doesn’t that take away form the interaction? Does it defeat the purpose of twitter? Some might argue, but personally, I think there are many good reasons to schedule a tweet. The catch is that you need to use twitter in real time too. Use scheduled tweets sparingly, but they can save you a lot of time.

Twitter Backgrounds

Basic Tweet Types

There are really only two basic types of Tweets. Replies (also called @mentions) or retweets.

@Mention or Replies

You can reply to someone’s Tweet simply by putting the @symbol in front of their name. For example, “@HolyWebMaker, your blog is awesome!” This makes the tweet appears in their reply page instead of in the general Tweetstream. This is a great way to start conversations with people and establish relationships. Simply comment on one of their tweets or mention something you read on their blog.
